International airlines

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is serviced by 55 international passenger routes covering Europe, the United States, Australia, and Asia. Among the opened international passenger routes, there are 14 intercontinental routes with destinations covering London, Rome, New York, Melbourne, Helsinki, Moscow, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sydney, Auckland and so on, 13 of which have realized the direct flight from Chongqing.

Domestic airlines

Most major domestic carriers that run services from China’s major cities operate in Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.

Airport

On-site services include shops and tax-free shopping for international travelers, lockers, ATMs, currency exchange, restaurants, bars, information, and car rental desks and, for departing travelers, a refund booth to reclaim Goods and Services Tax (GST) on some goods. There is also parking, for a fee.

There are free terminal shuttle buses operating between T2 and T3. It departs daily, from 04:30 to 22:30. It takes around 20  minutes to cover the route.

To and From Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport can be easily reached by CRT, bus, taxi or car.

Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT)

CRT Line 3 and 10 serve the area between the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and the downtown.

It operates from 06:00 to 22:30.

The fare varies from 2 yuan (about 0.29 U.S.dollars) to 10 yuan (about 1.47 U.S.dollars) based on distance.

The Transport Card is a reusable travel card- your ticket for CRT, and buses in the urban area. You can buy and top up the card at any CRT station at the price of 30 yuan (about 4.42 U.S.dollars), including 5 yuan (about 0.73 U.S.dollars) balance in the card. You can also buy a one-time ticket at any CRT station.

As a rule of thumb, 5 yuan (about 0.73 U.S.dollars) will get you to Jiefangbei in around 40 minutes and 3 yuan (about 0.44 U.S.dollars) Chongqing North Railway Station (Chongqingbei Railway Station) in 20minutes.

Airport Shuttle Bus

Airport Shuttle Bus K01 runs between Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and Jiefangbei Guotai Arts Center, which covers around 35km. The one-way ticket costs 15 yuan (about 2.21 U.S.dollars).

Taxi

To get to the downtown from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, you can take a taxi at the designated cab rank outside of the airport or book a taxi cab pick-up service by calling +86-23-96096, Chongqing taxis are easy to spot, as they display a lamp on the cab roof and are painted yellow.

From 06:00 to 23:00, the taxi base fare is 10 yuan (about 1.47 U.S.dollars) for the first 3km, and the distance rate is 2 yuan (about 0.29 U.S.dollars) /km. From 23:00 to 06:00, the base fare is 11 yuan for the first 3km, and the distance rate is 2.3 yuan (about 0.33 U.S.dollars) /km.

As a rule of thumb, 50 yuan (about 7.36 U.S.dollars) will get you to the Chongqing North Railway Station (Chongqingbei Railway Station) in around 20 minutes; 55 yuan-65 yuan (about 8.1 U.S.dollars to 9.57 U.S.dollars) will get you to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong in 30 to 40 minutes.

A car rental service is available at the airport. The following car rental agencies will have you sorted in a comfortable and safe car that’s the right size for your travel party. Vehicle pick-up and drop-off are available at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and in the city.

Rideshare

Rideshare trips with the Didi app are popular to get between the airport and the downtown. Download the Didi app on your smartphone then book a driver, which is generally more affordable than taxis. The app shows a fair estimate, the driver’s picture, vehicle details, and tracks the trip on a map. Didi may implement surcharge at busy times.

As a rule of thumb, 40 yuan (about 5.89 U.S.dollars) will get you to Chongqing North Railway Station (Chongqingbei Railway Station) in around 20minutes; 60 yuan (about 8.83 U.S.dollars) will get you to Jiefangbei in around 30 minutes.

The inter-city bus station is located next to the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport T3.

You can find inter-city buses to Chongqing’s prefecture-level regions and counties such as Tongliang, Tongnan, Yongchuan, Hechuan, Rongchang, Fuling, Changshou, as well as to cities of Sichuan province such as Zigong, Yibin, Neijiang, Guang’an, Linshui, Nanchong, Nanbu, Xiyun, Langzhong, Luzhou, Hejiang, Dazhou, Dazu; regions of Guizhou Province such as Zunyi, Tongzi, Chishui.
